49th Annual Collaborative EW Symposium

2020 Symposium Theme: Collaborative EW in support of Distributed Maritime Operations.

2020 Symposium Objective: Updates to the National Defense Strategy continue to stress requirements for warfighting systems to be more connected, jointly interoperable, rapidly deployed, and cost-effective. The success of distributed maritime operations requires employment of complex, networked EW systems. Admiral Richards put it well: “...we just need to think a little bit more creatively.” The 49th Annual Point Mugu Collaborative Electronic Warfare Symposium will bring together prominent leaders, contributors, and representatives from government, academia, and industry to address current EW gaps and emerging technologies required to address these gaps.

Submittal Deadline: Monday, January 20

The 49th Annual Point Mugu Collaborative Electronic Warfare Symposium will provide a venue to disseminate current research in the fields of Collaborative Electronic Warfare, with an emphasis on EW in support of distribute maritime Operations. Prominent leaders, contributors, and representatives from the military, government, academia, and industry will come together to address current Electronic Warfare gaps to support distributed operations and emerging technologies required to address these gaps

This call for presentations or demonstrations challenges presenters to explore collaborative EW through innovation and invention. Presentations or demonstrations from all Services, DoD, Industry, and Academia are requested to identify technical paths, options, and potential opportunities for EW collaboration with a support to Distributed operations focus. Submitted abstracts are specifically requested to address one or more of the symposium topics: jointly interoperable EW technologies, EW technology advancements impact on TTPs, and Speed to DMO Fleet.Abstracts for presentations are required in unclassified textual format. Please forward abstracts to speaker coordinators Mr. Brian Hill and Mr. Brian Ziegler at armstrong@crows.org.

Please limit abstracts to 400 words. To facilitate the selection process, please ensure your submitted abstract file is labeled with your last name, topic number and short title; i.e.: “Hill_Topic1_Welcome and Intro.doc.”

You must complete an Abstract Template Form and submit with abstract in order to be considered. The submittal deadline is 20 Jan 2020. Symposium presentations may be classified or unclassified. Classified briefings can be up to SECRET//NOFORN.

Notification of acceptance: Monday, February 3

Final Presentations and Disclosure paperwork due: Wednesday, March 18   

Security Clearances due: Friday, February 28   

Base Access Forms due:  Friday, February 14

Refunds will be issued minus a $75 administrative fee for all paid registrations. No refunds after March 23 or for no-shows. Online registration will close at Noon on March 25. Registrations after that time will need to register onsite.

OPEN to U.S. Citizens Only: All attendees representing the U.S. for all sessions, must submit their valid Security Certification via JPAS, SMO Code 631266, POC: AOC2020/Carolanne Perez First Visit Date: 30 March 2020, Last Visit Date: 3 April 2020, Phone Number: 805-989-4001. This visit request is a stand-alone visit and should be dated 30 March - 3 April 2020. Other time frames will not be accepted. Any attendees sending their clearance via fax must have Need-to-Know completed. All symposium attendees will be required to show proper state or federal issued photo identification. If you would like to verify your clearance or base access, please send an email to EW_Verify_vr_access@navy.mil.

All base access forms MUST be received by February 14, 2020 – No Exceptions.

 

If you have a government issued CAC, active/reserve/retired military ID you will be able to access the base by showing your appropriate identification card.

 

If you do not have a CAC card or military ID you must complete the base access form - BASE ACCESS FORM 2020. Must be received no later than February 14 - no exceptions. After that date you will need to ride a shuttle bus in the morning you will need to park outside the Mugu Road gate and ride the shuttle van to the base theater. The shuttles will run continuously between 0715-0830 daily and will bring you back to the gate in the afternoon.

 

Anyone with any felonies, open warrants or on the Sex Offender. Registry will be denied access to the base.
