The newest model of Russia's Tu-22M bomber performed its maiden flight on 28 December 2018. It has a modern digital glass cockpit and engine controls and electronic warfare countermeasures, as well as the ability to use precision air-to-surface weapons.

Russian TV Channel Zvezda has provided footage of the cutting-edge supersonic aircraft, Tupolev Tu-22M3M (NATO reporting name Backfire) participating in tests, proving its abilities under different weather conditions and altitudes.
