Colonel Jennifer A. McAfee was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Spanish and Portuguese from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, earning her commission as a Military Intelligence Officer in 1995.

She attended the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course at Fort Huachuca, Arizona in 1995. In 1996, COL McAfee’s first assignment was at 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia as the 24th Corps Support Group (CSG) Assistant S2. She then served as the 92nd Combat Engineer Battalion S2 in the 24th CSG. Her following three assignments were in the 103d Military Intelligence Battalion, 3d ID (M) as Assistant Collection Manager, Division Analysis and Control Element (ACE), Company Executive Officer for Bravo Company, and Battalion Maintenance Officer.

COL McAfee graduated from the Military Intelligence Captains’ Career Course, Combined Arms Service Staff School, and the Signals Intelligence/Electronic Warfare Officer Course in 1999. While assigned to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, COL McAfee served as the 325th Forward Support Battalion S2 and as a G2 Operations Officer, 25th Infantry Division (Light). She completed her Master of Science degree in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University during this time. COL McAfee’s follow-on assignment was as the Senior Watch Officer, Kunia Regional Security Operations Center (KRSOC). COL McAfee subsequently served as Commander, 406th MI Company, 732nd MI Battalion for 20 months with her Soldiers working 24/7 operations at the KRSOC. Her follow-on assignments were as the Battalion Adjutant for the 732nd MI Battalion, and then the Group S1 for the 115th MI Group.

COL McAfee served as the Kansas City Recruiting Battalion S3/Operations Officer in 2005, and then became the Kansas City Battalion Executive Officer from 2006 to 2008. She completed Intermediate Level Education at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; deploying to Operation Iraqi Freedom the following year with the “Big Red One”, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas as Chief of G2 Operations. In 2011, COL McAfee led the Ground Sensors Division within the TRADOC Capability Manager-Intelligence Sensors Division at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. She then served as the Battalion Commander of the Phoenix Recruiting Battalion from 2012 to 2014. COL McAfee’s most recent assignment was Deputy Director for the Requirements Determination Directorate within the Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate at the United States Intelligence Center of Excellence at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. She now serves as the TRADOC Capability Manager for Terrestrial & Identity at ICoE.

COL McAfee’s awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Superior Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), and the Basic Recruiter Badge. She is also a Knowlton Award recipient.
