The 7th Annual AOC Pacific Conference is co-sponsored with United States Pacific Command, which conducts additional meetings, presentations, and workshops that together with the AOC Pacific Conference comprise the Pacific IO Symposium. This annual event is PACOM's only professional development, international engagement, and operational problem-solving event focused on the Information Related Capabilities that comprise Joint IO. 

The purpose of the symposium is to bring together government, military, industry, academia, small business and other stakeholders for discussions on the operational challenges facing the practitioners of these IRCs, and to explore possible technological and tactics/procedural solutions. To stimulate wider interest and inquiry into these issues, the symposium and related activities and events will be open to registration by government, industry and academia representatives without regard to their AOC membership status (both AOC Members and non-members may register) except that access of foreign and any other persons may be restricted as necessary in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.               

The symposium agenda will focus on the role of information operations in maintaining the conditions for continued peace and stability within the region and will feature presentations and panels from senior U.S. Department of Defense leaders.

Attendance at the CLASSIFIED discussions on 11 October at Camp H.M. Smith requires the submission of a visitor request, and issuance of a PACOM HQs security badge at the SECRET level. Your current Security Manager will need in order to complete a USPACOM Visit Request letter and ensure your information is entered in the for processing by the PACOM Visitor Control Center (VCC). The visit request is entered in Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), using SMO code 000386. The purpose of the visit is to attend the Annual Pacific Information Operations Symposium. The sponsoring J-Code for this event is J39. Once your Security Manager has submitted the visit request, you can call the PACOM Visitors Control Center (VCC) at (808) 477-9358 to confirm receipt.

Allied and partner military representatives from invited nations must submit a Foreign Visit Request through embassy channels to visit Camp Smith. Instructions were transmitted on April 4, 2018, to the American embassies of all invited countries.



All registrants for the IO Symposium will be able to access the Hale Koa Hotel on the grounds of the Armed Forces Recreation Center at Fort DeRussy. Access to the Symposium Hall and Reception will require display of the Symposium badge, issued at the registration table outside the DeRussy Hall.

Vehicle access to Camp H.M. Smith will require a vehicle base access and parking pass. Those approved to attend Day #3 will be issued a temporary parking pass on 10 October during the UNCLASS symposium. DoD ID Card, or Allied Military ID Card will be required for base access, even with a temporary vehicle pass.
