Practical DRFM Technology and EMW Design Considerations
Thursday, February 7, 2019 14:00 until 15:00 EST
ABOUT
During this 1-hour webinar, we will begin with an overview of the DRFM (Digital RF Memory) architecture and functionality performed and work through several examples of practical DRFM technology concepts including photonics and superconductivity. We will explore design constructs that allow the mathematical models to be realized that enable managing the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) from several band-vantage points. For example, RF receiver noise-band, threat radar-band and band-sampling strategies. The use of non-uniform sampling, over-sampling and under-sampling concepts are folded into an overall understanding of EMS maneuvering. Technical considerations are then introduced along with modern front-end architectures - e.g., Nyquist Folding Receiver (NYFR), photonic NYFR, Robust Symmetrical Number System (RSNS), and Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices (SQUID). Algorithms for DRFM-Electronic Attack (EA), creating superior range-Doppler decoys will be discussed. Modern time-frequency & bi-frequency Electronic Support (ES) detection methods will be reviewed. Automatic algorithms for DRFM-ES detecting and classifying RF threats will be covered. Feature vector recognition using recurrent, convolutional & deep neural networks will then be discussed. The latest technological trends, such as counter-DRFM and Direct Digital Synthesizers (DDS) will be reviewed.
