Traveling from Airport or Train Station by Public Transportation:

  1. If you are arriving at Washington National Airport, take the blue line (Springfield/Franconia) or yellow line (Huntington) of the Metro System towards Huntington, exit at the Braddock station. Exit station to your left. Take the sidewalk to your left and follow along until you come to the AOC building. The building is the first one you will come to. It is located on the corner of First and North Payne Streets. There is a taxi stand in front of the metro station.
  2. If you are arriving at Dulles International Airport, take the Washington Flyer bus to Washington National Airport ($16) or take the Washington Flyer bus to the West Falls Church metro station ($8). Take the orange line to Rosslyn station and change to the blue line (Springfield/Franconia) to go to Braddock station, Alexandria (approx.$2.50). If you go to National Airport, take the metro blue or yellow line/Huntington to the Braddock station.
  3. If you are arriving at Baltimore/Washington International Airport, you can reach AOC headquarters by taking the Super Shuttle for about $40 (800-Blue Van). There is a Super Shuttle desk at the airport with a waiting room. Taking public transportation is not recommended from BWI.
  4. If you are arriving at Union Station, you can reach AOC headquarters by taking the red line Metro from Union Station in the direction of Shady Grove and changing trains at Gallery Place station for the yellow line in the direction of Huntington and exiting at Braddock station.
  5. In either case, exit out of the Braddock station to your left. Stay on the sidewalk along the retaining wall of the metro tracks. Follow sidewalk around until you come to the AOC headquarter located at the corner of First and North Payne Streets. It will be the first building on your left. There is a taxi stand in front of the metro station.

Traveling from Airport or Train Station by Automobile:

  1. If you are arriving at Washington National Airport, take the George Washington Parkway south towards Alexandria. A few miles after you pass the airport and the sailing marina, take slight right at access road leading to Slaters Lane (the turn is just before first traffic light). On this access road, take a right at the first light onto Slaters Lane. Follow Slaters Lane, staying in the right-hand lane, to Rt. 1 south. Turn right at First Street (by McDonalds). The AOC headquarters is two blocks down on the right at the corner of First and North Payne Streets. Limited parking is available at the AOC headquarters garage or two-hour parking on the street. Parking restrictions are enforced.
  2. If you are arriving at Dulles International Airport, take the Dulles toll-free road. Take the exit to Rt. I-495, Alexandria/Baltimore. Stay on Rt. I-495 until you come to the Alexandria exit Rt. 1N. It is the next exit after Telegraph Road and the last exit before the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Stay on Rt. 1 for two miles. Turn left on First Street (the next street after Montgomery St.). Go two blocks on First Street to the corner of First and Payne. We will be on the right side of the road at 1000 North Payne Street. Limited parking is available at the AOC headquarters garage or two-hour parking on the street.
  3. If you are arriving at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), take route I-95 west to either the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (rte. 295) south or route I-95 south. I-95 merges onto route I-495 east, exit from the left lanes. After crossing the Woodrow Wilson bridge, take the first group of exits to Rt. 1 north and follow for two miles. Turn left on First Street (the next street after Montgomery St.). Go two blocks on First Street to the Corner of First and Payne. We will be on the right side of the road at 1000 North Payne Street. Limited parking is available at the AOC headquarters garage or two-hour parking on the street.
  4. If you are arriving at Union Train Station, drive Northwest on North Capitol Street NW, towards F Street NW. Stay straight to go onto Louisiana Ave NW. Turn slight right onto D Street NW. Turn slight left to take the I-395 south ramp. Merge onto I-395 S. Take I-395 S and exit at George Washington Memorial Parkway/GW Pkwy towards National Airport/Alexandria. A few miles after you pass the airport and the sailing marina, take slight right at access road leading to Slaters Lane (turn is just before first traffic light). On this access road, take a right at the first light onto Slaters Lane. Follow Slaters Lane, staying in the right-hand lane to Rt. 1 south. Turn right at First Street (by McDonalds). The AOC headquarters is two blocks down on the right at the corner of First and Payne. Limited parking is available at the AOC headquarters garage or two-hour parking on the street.
  5. If you are staying at a hotel in Crystal City or coming from further up Rt. 1 near the Pentagon, you take Rt. 1S also know as Jefferson Davis Highway. AOC headquarters is three miles from Crystal City. Turn right onto First Street (McDonalds on the right), and go two blocks. The AOC headquarters is on the corner of First and North Payne Streets on the right. Limited parking is available at the AOC headquarters garage or two-hour parking on the street.

Parking at AOC Headquarters

There is two-hour parking on the street in front of the building. The parking limit is enforced. We encourage those who can to use the Metro whenever possible. The AOC building is located two blocks from the Braddock station on the blue and yellow lines. When you exit the station, you go to the left and follow the sidewalk around until you come to the AOC headquarter which will be the first building on the left at the corner of First and Payne Streets.
