Course Description:
This course includes a review of EW fundamentals for technical professionals new to the EW field and coverage of advanced threats and techniques for those who have been working in the field. It provides system level coverage of the features and challenges of modern radar and communications threats and the EW techniques employed against them.
There are no prerequisites for this course except a general technical background. All required math beyond algebra is covered in class. In addition to lecture and discussion, each course segment will include in-class problems to solve real-world ES and EA problems.
Handout materials include two hard cover text books, EW101 and 102, a new pocket EW guide – all written by the instructor. There will also be a 300 page course syllabus with copies of all visual aids and work sheets for in-class problems, a special antenna and propagation slide rule and a scientific calculator.
Instructor:
Presented by Dave Adamy, the author of the EW101 book series and the monthly EW101 columns in the JED. Mr. Adamy holds BSEE and MSEE degrees, both with communication theory majors. He has over 40 years experience as an engineer and manager in the development of electronic warfare and related systems. He has published over 160 articles on electronic warfare and communications theory related subjects, including a popular monthly tutorial section in the Journal of Electronic Defense. He has eleven books in print. He consults to various military organizations and teaches electronic warfare and communication theory short courses all over the world.
