After 9/17 – onsite:        AOC Member - $1,800        Non-Member - $2,050

This course covers the basics of electro-optical and infrared system design, operation, and performance. The material includes remote sensing and military use of ultraviolet, visible, and infrared electromagnetic energy for applications such as target detection, acquisition, and tracking, weapons delivery, missile warning, and directed energy and countermeasure systems. New developments in laser-based closed-loop DIRCM systems and operational performance concepts are discussed and illustrated with multiple videos.

Cyber Warfare Course

After 9/17 – onsite:        AOC Member - $300           Non-Member - $400

This unclassified Cyber Warfare Tutorial covers the basics of Cyber Warfare including:
• Definitions of cyber warfare and related issues and relationships to EW
• Roles of DoD and other organizations and evolving boundaries between functions
• Cyber attack methods, threats, impacts and risks
• Insider threats, mitigation strategies and penetration testing
• Security in mobile and wireless systems
• Emerging policy and ethics issues in cyber warfare

Introduction to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs), Their Missions and Systems
Saturday-Sunday, October 2-3
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Instructor: Mr. John Minor

Fees on or before 9/17:  AOC Member - $750           Non-Member - $900
After 9/17 – onsite:        AOC Member - $800           Non-Member - $950

This practical course includes the history and an industry survey of current and planned UAVs, UASs, their missions, and their systems to include multi-int sensor and EW payloads and data links.

Introduction to Microwave Systems Course
Saturday-Sunday, October 2-3
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each day
Instructor: Antonio Dias de Macedo Filho, Ph.D.

Fees on or before 9/17:  AOC Member - $750           Non-Member - $900
After 9/17 – onsite:        AOC Member - $800           Non-Member - $950

EW systems usually apply several microwave modules each with many components. However, the study of microwave theory usually requires deep mathematic skills and a profound knowledge of electromagnetic concepts. This course aims to explain such topics without such formality in a more practical sense.

Refresher on Electronic Warfare Course
Saturday- Sunday, October 2-3
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m./9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. respectively

Brazil is one of the main emergent countries and seeks for a permanent seat at the UN Security Council. Its vast territory, in particular the rainforest area (the Green Amazon) and the maritime exclusive economic zone (Blue Amazon), needs to be surveilled and EW can play a very important role. However, Brazilians have a peculiar way of doing business: they make business with friends and not with businessmen, the irregular pace of the process, the Adm Braga’s equation of system efficacy, etc...  Many of these aspects come from the way the country was formed, colonized and its people see themselves. Many business are made or lost because the lack of understanding of how these factors work.  All of these will be commented by a former negotiator of many EW deals at the side of the Brazilian Navy.

Directed Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) Principles Course
