Welcome to the world of Electronic Defense! To help keep you up to date on what’s happening in the world of electronic defense, your chosen profession, please consider joining the International Association of Old Crows (AOC), the Electronic Warfare and Information Operations Association.

The AOC is an international nonprofit professional association that began in 1964 as a forum for the exchange of technical and operational information of defense electronics and related fields. The AOC has grown to over 14,200 members and 114 corporate members engaged in the science and practice of Electronic Warfare (EW), Information Operations (IO), and related disciplines. The AOC has members in 47 countries with 65 chapters in 19 countries. The AOC’s membership includes executives, scientists, engineers, managers, operators & technicians, educators, and military personnel - to name a few.

The AOC is a professional organization that promotes information superiority to maintain national security by providing:

  • Awareness to the general public, members and government agencies
  • Studies and Analysis to support national defense issues
  • Education assistance and scholarships to students seeking a career in Defense Electronics
  • Recognition of members accomplishments through awards
  • Sponsorship of trade shows and exhibits

The AOC heritage goes back to WW-II. We have made our mark, the Electronic Defense Systems that AOC members have designed, built and delivered over the course of four decades have saved innumerable lives. It is our duty, honor and commitment to continue this tradition into the future. Only through the individual contributions and commitment of each member and the activities of the local chapters can our role and leadership in this most important mission area continue.

In short, the AOC is an investment in continuing professional education and an investment in the national defense. Please fill out the attached application or contact one of the Board of Directors members for more information. When you become a member of the AOC, you will begin to receive the monthly publication of the Journal of Electronic Defense (JED). A must have publication for those working in Defense Electronics. The AOC also sponsors a number of professional educational events and other activities at the national and local level throughout each year.

The Windy City Chapter represents the AOC in the Midwest. The cost of membership is only $40/yr. This covers a $45 National Membership Fee and the $5 local dues as well.
