Lt Col (ret) Walter Wolf enlisted in the USAF in 1972, garnered an AFROTC scholarship in 1975 and graduated as an AFROTC distinguished graduate from the University of Colorado with a BSEE in 1977. Walter served as a research and development engineer at Hanscom AFB until earning his Navigator wings in 1980. Following assignment to Strategic Air Command as a B-52G/H EWO, he was an instructor at Strategic Air Command’s Central Flight Instructor Course (CFIC).

Walter was selected in 1987 as B-1B Defensive Systems Officer initial cadre and served as the Chief of Tactics, 391BMW at Grand Forks AFB. In 1992, Walter was selected to the initial operations staff at HQ Air Combat Command and was Deputy Chief of Bomber Electronic Combat Systems. During his HQ ACC staff tenure, Walter was cited as an “architect of airpower” by the HQ ACC Director of Operations in 1995. Walter retired in 1996 with over 2,000 flying hours in B-52 and B-1Bs. An Old Crow since 1982, he is currently National President of the Association of Old Crows, past National Treasurer and North East Region Director, current president of the Granite State Roost, past president of the Red River Ravens Roost, and past vice-president of the Old Crows of Tidewater Chapter. With over 30 years of operational and managerial experience of IO/EW in the USAF and in industry, Walter is currently program manager of advanced classified programs at BAE Systems, Nashua NH.
