LTC René Kaenzig currently serves as a Swiss Air Force Headquarters Staff Officer in Bern. He supports all Swiss Air Force EW/IO and related projects, operations and support activities.
An Electronics Engineer since 1980, he served from May 1980 to July 1984 in a general aviation maintenance concern as an avionics specialist. From August 1984 to July 1988, he worked on UAV R&D at RUAG Aerospace, after which he joined the Swiss Air Force Headquarters as a professional EWO. He completed the USAF EWO/SOC at Mather AFB in 1991.
Born in the French part of Switzerland in 1960, he is fluent in French, German and English. René is married and has one son., and pursues many outdoor hobbies, including backpacking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and hunting roe deer and wild boar with his best friend, "Choc," a Labrador Retriever.
Mister Kaenzig founded the Swiss Crows AOC chapter in 1995 and served as its president from October 1995 to May 2000. During this period, he led the Chapter to the AOC 1997 Outstanding Chapter of the Year and 2000 Chapter of the Year. He hosted the 3rd AOC International Conference and Exhibition in Zurich in May 2000, and was awarded the AOC Outstanding Achievement Award. Mister Kaenzig has served on the AOC Board of Directors, representing the members and chapters of International Region I since October 2002.
