Welcome to the Show Daily for the 51st Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention!

The 51st Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention is off to a great start at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, in Washington, D.C. beginning with the Oktoberfest themed welcome reception this evening.  Crows from around the globe are converging on the U.S. Capital for the next 4 days of jam-packed symposium sessions, fantastic networking opportunities, and engaging industry displays from over 95 companies in the Exhibit Hall.  Click here to review the schedule of events or symposium agenda.

The AOC was founded on September 9th, 1964 at the very first AOC Symposium, and celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 9th, 2014 - less than one month ago.  This 51st symposium marks the culmination of a year-long celebration of 50 years of tremendous AOC legacy.  The annual banquet on Thursday evening will wrap-up the celebration with a bang.  If you haven't already purchased your tickets to the banquet, stop by the registration booth and take care of that right away!

Legacy BookFor those attending the 51st Annual Symposium and Convention, this is a great opportunity (for only $25!) to stop by the membership booth and pick up your commemorative AOC book entitled “AOC Legacy, The First 50 Years.”  This full-color, hardbound commemorative publication provides a compelling history of the organization and the vital role the EW/IO industry has played in the defense of the nations and the world.  With stunning photography, first-person narratives, and profiles of key participants, this handsome coffee-table book weaves the story of the AOC, industry, and EW into a seamless narrative.

While at the membership booth, you can also grab your AOC 50th Anniversary Coin as well as lots of other great AOC memorabilia.  For those folks not on site, you can learn more about ordering these items in the AOC Online Store.

Tomorrow, the AOC has the privilege of honoring Maj Gen George B. Harrison, USAF (Ret) with its highest and most prestigious award - The AOC Gold Medal.  It is presented to a senior U.S. or International Government, Military, or Industry Official in recognition of outstanding and dedicated service to promote and advance the discipline of Electronic Warfare.  It reflects the highest standards of commitment to the welfare of Electronic Warfare. General Harrison is a well-deserving recipient. You can hear comments from him in the video highlights above.

The Symposium kicks into high gear tomorrow at 08:00 EDT with a keynote address from:

Gen. James E. Cartwright, USMC (Ret.)
"Operational Maneuver In the Non-Physical Domains"

This dynamic keynote is followed by 7 informative symposium sessions led by the forerunners in Electromagnetic Warfare.  This is one agenda not to be missed!

Are you seeing all of this, and realizing you're missing it because you didn't register in time?  Don't fret! You can still register on-site.  Simply show up at AOC Central in the Atrium of the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, and visit the Registration counter.  As a reminder, this event is free for uniformed, active-duty military, and government civilians with proper government ID.

If you aren't able to join us in-person, be sure to monitor @AOCrows and #AOC2014 on Twitter to join the conversations in real-time.  The Show Daily will be delivered fresh from the symposium, directly to your email inbox with a video digest featuring the days' events.  Below the video will be links to session summaries and other items of note.

Thank you to all of the Sponsors and Exhibitors that made this Symposium possible!
